Atlanta
Writers Group
Writer’s Guidelines:
The purpose of the Atlanta Writers Group (AWG) is to encourage,
develop and promote writers of the Atlanta Metro and surrounding
areas. At this time we only accept articles from members of AWG. If you are not a
member of AWG, please review our Membership
information.
Article Topics: We are interested in encouraging,
uplifting, and motivational articles. Articles related to writing are
helpful, but not necessary. Members may submit articles on self-help
topics in their area of expertise. At this time, we do not publish poetry
or short stories. AWG reserves the right to reject articles that are
poorly written, inappropriate, profane or otherwise offensive.
Article Length: 500-1,500 words (shorter is better)
Style: Internet writing style. If you are not an
experienced web writer, please review Writing for the Web,
Chapter 1 from The Web Content Style Guide (Financial Times
Prentice Hall, 2001).
Tips: Write as if you are speaking to someone that you
know. Do not use technical or industry related jargon in your article.
Payment: At this time, AWG offers only a byline.
Please include any links or email addresses you feel will be helpful in
promoting your work.
Submission: Send queries or articles with short
by-line and links as email attachments (MS Word format) to editor@atlantawriters.org.
